Natural, intelligent portraits for professionals, founders and teams

The moment you notice the camera, your body reacts almost immediately, often before you are even fully aware of it yourself. Your shoulders become slightly tense, your expression suddenly feels unnatural, your posture changes and you begin paying attention to every small detail of how you look. This happens to almost everyone, especially in professional situations where you want to appear confident, credible, approachable and relaxed all at once.

Congratulations. You are a normal human.

Most people I photograph are not used to standing in front of a professional camera, particularly not in a context where the photos will represent them publicly on LinkedIn, company websites, press features, presentations or personal brands. Feeling slightly uncomfortable at the beginning of a photoshoot says very little about how photogenic you are and much more about the fact that you are paying attention to how you are perceived.

That shift usually changes quite quickly once the session begins.

I photograph entrepreneurs, consultants, international professionals, founders, executives and teams in Brussels, both in my studio and on location, who want professional portraits that feel natural, visually refined and genuinely aligned with the way they see themselves and their work.

Professional portraits for people who want to look like themselves at their best

Some clients come to me because they are building a personal brand and need imagery that carries the same level of care and intelligence as everything else they put out professionally. Others need executive portraits for their company, leadership team photos, LinkedIn headshots or cohesive visual imagery for their organisation. Very often, they simply want photos that look intelligent, modern and human without feeling stiff or excessively corporate.

I work with entrepreneurs, consultants, executives, lawyers, founders, international professionals and corporate teams across Brussels, including the European Quarter and other international business areas throughout the city.

The photos are typically used across LinkedIn profiles, company websites, speaker profiles, press features, personal brands, internal communications and presentations. Many of the people I work with come from multilingual and international environments where professionalism matters deeply but where warmth, clarity and approachability matter equally.

Team and Corporate Photography in Brussels

Professional team photography requires a different kind of preparation than individual portraits, and organisation matters just as much as aesthetics once multiple people are involved. Scheduling, efficiency, visual consistency and keeping the process smooth for employees all become part of the conversation long before the camera appears.

I work with companies and organisations in Brussels to create executive portraits, company headshots, leadership team photos, office portraits and cohesive corporate branding imagery. Sessions can take place at your offices, in my Brussels studio or at a carefully selected location depending on the atmosphere and visual direction you would like the photos to communicate.

Before the shoot, we discuss the visual style, wardrobe guidance, background options, image usage, scheduling logistics and the overall impression you want the photos to carry. My aim throughout is to make the process smooth, efficient and minimally disruptive to your working day while maintaining a high visual standard from first frame to final delivery.

Personal Branding and Executive Headshots

A strong professional portrait is no longer the exclusive concern of senior executives or public-facing figures. People often encounter you online before they ever meet you in person, and those first photos they see carry more weight than most people expect.

Personal branding photography is particularly valuable for founders, consultants, lawyers, speakers, coaches, freelancers and professionals building visibility online who want images that communicate credibility, personality and professionalism without looking like they were produced in a conveyor-belt studio.

The visual style itself matters deeply to me. I have always been drawn to portraits that feel calm, visually precise and emotionally believable at the same time. I dislike photos where the expression feels forced, the posing feels artificial or the retouching removes so much texture and character that the person no longer quite looks like themselves. Strong business portraits can still feel elegant and polished without becoming cold or impersonal, and that balance is what I work towards in every session.

You do not need to know how to pose

Somewhere between the first careful minutes and the moment you stop monitoring every expression, every hand movement and every tiny adjustment of your posture, the photos begin feeling different. More relaxed. More natural. More recognisable. The strongest portraits often appear slightly later in the session, once there is enough space for you to stop performing in front of the camera and simply exist in front of it.

Throughout the session, I help with posture, positioning, body language, facial expression, hand placement, angles and pacing. Sometimes the difference between a photo that feels tense and one that suddenly feels confident comes from something visually very small. The position of your shoulders, the angle of your body, or the moment you stop trying to consciously control every expression on your face.

Some people arrive with a very clear visual direction and references already prepared. Others only know that they want photos that feel more professional, more refined or more aligned with the stage of career or business they are entering. Both are completely fine as a starting point.

What the process looks like

1. Consultation and Planning

We begin with a conversation about the purpose of the photos, where they will be used, the visual direction, wardrobe, location, backgrounds and the overall impression you want the images to communicate. For team sessions, we also discuss scheduling efficiency, visual consistency across the group and how to keep the process smooth for everyone involved.

2. Preparation Guidance

After the consultation, you receive detailed preparation guidance including what to wear, outfit recommendations and colour suggestions tailored to your type of session. As a general rule, well-fitted clothing in solid colours that feels like you tends to work best. Fit, fabric and colour have more influence on the final result than most people expect.

3. The Photoshoot

Sessions are guided throughout in a calm and structured way. You do not need previous experience in front of the camera. I direct the session carefully while still leaving space for natural expression and movement and the goal is always for the photos to feel like they arrived naturally rather than like they were carefully constructed.

4. Image Selection and Delivery

After the session, the strongest photos are  selected, curated and uploaded to a private online gallery for your review. Final retouched images are delivered digitally. Delivery timelines depend on the scale and type of project and are discussed clearly before booking.

Natural retouching

The photos are carefully edited while keeping the final result natural and recognisable. I work conservatively and pay attention to temporary distractions such as tired under-eyes, blemishes or small inconsistencies, while preserving skin texture, expression and character throughout. The intention is always for you to look like yourself on a very good day, not like a different person entirely.

I do not believe in heavily artificial skin retouching or dramatically altered portraits. The editing process focuses on subtle refinements and overall polish, not on removing the details that make a face interesting.

"We worked with Liene on corporate headshots and a group photograph of our team, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. From the initial communication through planning and the shoot itself, Liene was consistently positive, professional and a pleasure to work with. We're delighted with the final images and would highly recommend working with her."

"I had a wonderful experience working with Liene for my headshots. I felt completely at ease throughout the session, and that truly shows in the results. The photos genuinely reflect who I am."

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I wear for a professional photoshoot?

All clients receive detailed preparation guidance before the session, including suggestions for colours, fabrics, outfit combinations and overall styling direction. As a general rule, well-fitted clothing in solid colours that feels aligned with how you normally present yourself professionally tends to work best. Fit, fabric and colour have more influence on the final result than most people expect.

What if I feel awkward in front of the camera?

That is probably the most common sentence I hear before a session begins. Feeling slightly uncomfortable in front of a camera is an extremely normal reaction, particularly in professional contexts where you care about how you are perceived. The session is guided carefully throughout, so you are never expected to arrive already knowing what to do.

Do you help with posing?

Yes, throughout the entire session. Guiding posture, positioning, body language and expression naturally is already part of the process. You are not expected to arrive with any prior experience of being photographed professionally.

Do you photograph teams and companies?

Yes. I regularly photograph leadership teams, corporate portraits, company headshots and professional team imagery for businesses and organisations in Brussels. Team sessions are planned carefully in advance so the process remains smooth, efficient and minimally disruptive during the working day.

Can the photos be used for LinkedIn and company websites?

Absolutely. Most clients use the photos across several platforms simultaneously, including LinkedIn, websites, speaker profiles, press features, publications, presentations and professional communication of all kinds.

How long does a business photoshoot take?

The timing depends on the type of session, the number of people involved and the visual direction of the shoot. Some personal branding sessions move slowly and conversationally, while larger team sessions require a more structured schedule. Timing is discussed in detail before booking so expectations are clear from the beginning.

Do you retouch the images?

Yes, although the editing remains natural and restrained. Skin texture and character are kept intact while temporary distractions are refined and the overall visual consistency of the images is polished throughout.

How quickly will I receive the photos?

Delivery timelines vary depending on the scope of the project and are always discussed before booking.
